FDA (FOOD & DRUG ADMINISTRATION) ADVISORIES AND WEBSITES
The FDA is charged with insuring the safety of both food and medications and medical devices. Regular updates and alerts are issued on their website and these will include the so-called "black box" warnings added to medications regarding current study results. Consumers are advised to make themselves familiar with the FDA site.
If you’ve had a problem with any medicine or medical device, please check with your healthcare provider and with the FDA site, as well. Healthcare providers often receive advisory letters from FDA and this information may not always get to you as quickly as they might like. Being your own watchdog, therefore, is your best insurance here.
